Stress

Stress has become quite common and while occasional stress can be beneficial, making us more focused and alert, persistent and excessive stress is hard on the body. It makes us vulnerable to health problems such as cancer, heart disease, obesity, and much more. Chronic stress can make us feel like we constantly need to be on guard and leads to anxiety, which in turn can lead to depression.

Stress can cause pain, particularly in the lower back. Low back pain is then oftentimes accompanied with leg pain, headaches and sleep problems. Stress can sometimes cause us more pain than strenuous physical activity.

It’s important to put our problems in perspective and take action to combat stress. If you are experiencing excessive stress, talk to your Renton chiropractor about ways to reduce the risk of chronic stress and depression. Exercise, enjoying nature, drinking tea, laughter, and relaxing music are some ways in which we can reduce the amount of stress we have in our lives.
