Fall is here, and many people find it difficult to stay active as the weather gets a little cooler, and the days get a little shorter. Prioritizing your health this time of year takes more inspiration than usual, so luckily, October is National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM). Organized every year by the American Chiropractic Association, the theme for NCHM 2020 is ‘Active and Adaptive.’ This theme has a double meaning, first the obvious need to stay active in order to keep your body adaptive, but the theme also recognizes our need to adapt ‘to the new normal and maintain musculoskeletal health and function in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.’
Chiropractic health is a core tenet of our overall health, and while people have been doing their best in bad circumstances, the lack of resources and need to shelter in place has led to a decrease in physical activity for many Americans. NCHM 2020 is an attempt to help people break out of these limitations, and build good chiropractic health habits in order to prevent physical and psychological deterioration throughout the winter.
